Rules & Scoring
Rules
- There will be roaming referees throughout the tournament to assist with rules and scoring questions. Teams are responsible for keeping score for each match.
- Doubles Play - Team A competes against Team B; each team is comprised of two players.
- Single elimination.
- Players at the headboard will alternate pitching bags until each player has pitched all four of their bags.
- Players must pitch the bag with an under-hand release and must be behind the foul line at the time of release.
- The player who scored in the preceding rebound pitches first in the next round. If neither pitcher scores, the player who pitched second in the previous round then pitches first.
- At the end of the match, the winning team reports the results to the commissioner.
Scoring:
- First team to reach or exceed 21 points or have the most points after 15 minutes wins the match.
- Cancellation Scoring: The points of one player cancel out the points of their opponent. Using this method, only one player scores in each round. Example: If a player from Team A scores 3 points and a player from Team B scores 2 points, Team A receives 1 point from that round.
- Bag-In-The-Court: Any bag which comes to rest anywhere on top of the board. Each is worth one (1) point.
- Bag-In-The-Hole: Any bag which is thrown through the hole or knocked through the hole by another bag. Each is worth three (3) points.
- Foul Bags: Any bag which does not make it onto the board or in the hole. Each is worth zero (0) points.
