Responsibilities
Department Reps have five easy but very important responsibilities during the campaign:
- Attend the Kickoff Breakfast and Training: Wednesday, January 17, 8:30 AM.
- Display, publicize, and share campaign information with your department.
- Schedule an informational presentation by United Way for your department for your chance to be entered into a prize opportunity drawing. We’ll keep the presentation short and sweet. Hosting a department presentation is the number one way to share communications about the campaign across campus.
- Encourage your colleagues to participate in the Bean Bag Tournament and the Campus Store Round-Up.
- Get some fun competition going and sponsor a department team to participate in the Bean Bag Tournament!
- It’s a great time for some new office swag from the Campus Store, and it can benefit the campaign! Win-win!
- Advertise Candy Gram sales and pick up your department’s Candy Grams and distribute them to your co-workers just in time for Staff Appreciation Day!
Benefits
Some of the benefits of participating as a Department Representative include:
- Involvement in a campus-wide effort to help your Santa Barbara Community.
- Opportunity to engage and network with colleagues across campus and in different departments.
- Bragging rights at being the most informational one in the office for all things United Way and the opportunity to educate about Santa Barbara’s non-profit community, while offering everyone the chance to give.
